The Carmel Guitar Society was founded in 1961.

 

Our mission is to promote the classical guitar in its many facets through education, performances and social gatherings. CCGS oversees two grant-funded music programs within Monterey County:

 

• The Guitar In The Schools teaches musical concepts to 4th and 5th graders through the guitar and curriculum.

• The Healing Guitar fosters spiritual wellness to seniors through concert performances in hospices, convalescent homes, and hospitals.
